2023 Audi Etron:
2023 Audi E-Tron GT is the flagship of Audi’s nascent E-Tron all-electric subbrand. Introduced for 2022 and built on the J1 platform shared with the Porsche Taycan, the E-Tron GT is a sporty electric luxury sedan. Like other Audi models, it has a high-performance RS variant. Changes for 2023 are minor.
The Audi E-Tron GT is as nice to look at as it is to drive—which is to say, pretty great, but not perfect. Its exterior is sleek and evocative, showing more exuberance than Audi’s typically conservative styling approach. However, fussier details like the grille treatment or wide taillights may look dated in years to come.
Similarly, its interior is superbly crafted and full of tech. Use of vegan materials advance Audi’s eco-friendly ambitions.
Every E-Tron GT carries a 93-kWh battery, with DC fast charging capability that peaks at 270 kW. It sends power to dual electric motors—one on each axle, enabling electric Quattro all-wheel drive. Unlike many single-gear EVs, the E-Tron GT has a two-speed automatic transmission.
The standard E-Tron GT makes 469 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque. When Boost mode is activated, those numbers temporarily rise to 522 hp and 472 lb-ft. In MotorTrend testing, 0-60-mph acceleration took 3.6 seconds with Boost mode. Efficiency and range for the 2023 E-Tron GT should be similar to the 2022 model, which was rated by the EPA at 81/83 mpg-e city/highway, and 238 miles. The E-Tron GT RS gives up efficiency for performance. Output rises to 590 hp and 612 lb-ft as standard, while Boost mode elevates it to 637 hp; torque is unchanged. The 0-60-mph launch takes just 2.9 seconds, according to our tests. Efficiency dropped to 79/82 mpg-e and 232 miles of range in 2022 EPA testing; the 2023 model should be similar.
