The Acura NSX provides an experience to rival the finest supercars on sale. Introduced for the 2017 model year, the second-generation NSX is powered by a complex hybrid powertrain. The result is performance just as thrilling as its styling.
The NSX proves that hybridization can be the key to unlocking incredible performance. Part of its motivation comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 connected to a nine-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Then it gets zapped by three electric motors: one mounted in between the engine and transmission, and one more for each front wheel. The result is electric AWD; pre-2022 models send 573 hp and 476 lb-ft of torque through the tires. The 2022 NSX Type S, however, pushes those figures to 600 hp and 492 lb-ft.
